In the brief interview on this DVD, Claudio Arrau (1903-1991) traces a lineage of his teachers linking him, finally, to Beethoven himself. He chose it for this rare appearance on Canadian television, coupling it appropriately with Mozart's dramatic A minor Sonata, K.310.
